HISTORY
RENOWNED PAST AND FUTURE
Bavaria’s King Ludwig II described the 5-star hotel as “the most beautiful place in Innsbruck to celebrate festive events”. King Karl Gustav of Sweden found in the suites of the Grand Hotel the necessary rest and relaxation between the competition of the two Olympic Winter Games from 1964 and 1976. In 2007, the Italian “Palenca Luxury Hotels” acquired Innsbruck’s most important hotel. Extensive renovation and expansion works – which have already been completed in the lobby, bar and reception area – will follow in 2008/09.
Since its establishment in 1869 as the first tourism and social address, the Grand Hotel Europa has characterised the life of the provincial capital Innsbruck.
