Ludwig II, King of Bavaria called it “the finest hotel in Innsbruck”: Grand Hotel Europa is the historic 5-star hotel in the Austrian city. Founded in 1869 by Schreiner & Klausner, it stands a few steps from the famous ‘golden roof’, the Imperial Palace, the ski slopes and golf courses. The hotel boasts a glorious past. Since it opened, it has been and still is today the place to stay for prestigious guests, welcoming top celebrities from the worlds of politics, show business and sport. They have included Queen Elizabeth II, the Rolling Stones and even Prince Albert of Monaco during the Youth Olympic Games in 2012. Famous musicians such as Deep Purple and Zucchero are regular guests of the hotel.
